Lishan Knowles

New Life for Lishan

Lishan Knowles is a 54-year-old mother and resident of Chapel Hill, N.C. She is a 20-year liver transplant survivor, but her anti-rejection medicine now has caused her to need a kidney transplant. Read Lishan's story.

Medicare will cover most of the transplant's cost, but Lishan must raise approximately $50,000 for out-of-pocket costs and related expenses, especially medications.

A group of friends and neighbors, in cooperation with the National Foundation for Transplants, is working raise enough money through contributions and fund-raising activities and events to meet that goal while helping her with current out-of-pocket medical bills. Your gift can save Lishan's and other patients' lives and is fully tax-deductible.
